Product Development Technician

Position is responsible for performing the various phases of the setup process for new product lines in remanufacturing. Works closely with engineering, R&D, quality, and production. 

Responsibilities and Duties: 
  • Tear down, build and test various types of diesel fuel injection system components in accordance with engineering or manufacturer’s guidelines, procedures, and recommended practices.
  • Maintain continuous communication with all levels of manufacturing to ensure new projects are progressing properly.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of each step in the new project process and any measurements taken in a highly organized manor.
  • Act as a liaison between the engineering, R&D and production groups to ensure small details are not missed.
  • Train the warranty department on identifying issues with new projects. Keep the warranty department informed on any potential returns.
  • Ensure tooling and fixtures are installed and utilized properly.
  • Ensure work stations for new projects are set up in the most ergonomic, efficient and space saving manner before production starts.
  • Attend and participate in meetings relating to new product lines when required.
  • Support defined test plan or new product test fixtures, instrumentation and methods.
  • Train Production Leads and Technicians on the process of the new product line. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Operate in conformance with the requirements of the quality management system.
  • Assists other employees both in and out of the department.
  • Perform related duties or assignments as required.
  • Provide feedback on system needs, changes and improvements.

Requirements and Qualifications: 

High school diploma or equivalent. Diesel industry knowledge and experience preferred. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
