This position is responsible for conducting engineering and support activities of various diesel fuel injection system component remanufacturing projects.  This position works independently, reporting to the Engineering Manager.  It requires frequent contact with employees at all levels of the organization, customers and vendors.

Responsibilities and Duties: 
  • Supports the development of overarching product platform strategies to focus and drive cost effective product reengineering efforts and remanufacturing processes.
    • Develop processes that reclaim core components.
    • Support manufacturing goals.
    • Support manufacturing with fixture/process/equipment development.
  • Conduct engineering activity related to ongoing remanufacturing programs.
    • Reverse engineer replacement components.
    • Develop suppliers’ and in-house processes for new and reconditioned parts.
    • Develop test strategies for evaluating OE equivalency.
    • Technical resource for floor associates. 
    • Develop SPC analysis tools to help monitor the remanufacturing lines.
  • Departmental Support
    • Support Quality department with evaluating trending products.  Root cause analysis.
    • Support Incoming Inspection with non-confirming material.
    • Support Purchasing with technical expertise
  • Operate in conformance with the requirements of the quality management system.
  • Assist other employees both in and out of the department.
  • Provide feedback on system needs/changes.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Requirements and Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.  Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.  Strong product/process design, application and system testing aptitude.  Demonstrated ability to utilize structured project management processes to lead projects to successful completion.  Able to develop and establish manufacturing assembly and test processes.  Experience in situation analysis and structured problem solving methods.  Accountable, and consistently uses organizational tools to manage handle and delegate multiple assignments, projects and tasks.  Takes ownership and is responsible for successful completion of own assignments/work.  Results oriented with desire to see assignments through to completion.

Ideal candidate would have strong leadership, mechanical aptitude and manufacturing experience.  Outstanding relationship-building, team-building and organizational skills.  Proficient with software required to meet job expectations, specifically knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and Solid Works.
